Kun Lim Architect, established in Kuala Lumpur in 2000,and Kun Lim Studio LLC, founded in Seattle in 2013, form a cohesive and comprehensive architectural practice, providing expert services across a wide range of building types, including mixed-use, multifamily, commercial, athletic, campus, worship, medical, recreational, and township planning.
Our primary focus lies in understanding client needs and articulating their requirements. We prioritize meticulous attention to detail and project-specific considerations, encompassing land use optimization, climatic response, environmental context, integration with nature, and coordination with structural systems and building services. Ourwork regularly garners media attention and has received design awards.
Led by brothers Ar. Ar. Lim Kun San
Ar. Lim Kun San, a University of Melbourne Bachelor of Architecture graduate, boasts over 35 years of comprehensive architectural expertise as a registered architect in Malaysia. With a proven track record in schematic design, design development, detail design and contract administration, he has delivered diverse projects including sports complex, university, condominium, industrial facility, bungalow, office, warehouse, car showroom & service center. His extensive experience spans all aspects of architectural practice, making him a well-rounded, and accomplished professional in the field.

Kun Lim
Kun Lim is the Design Principal of Kun Lim Studio LLC in Seattle, USA, and Kun Lim Architect in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Architecture, he leads an international practice with a diverse portfolio encompassing mixed-use developments, multifamily housing, commercial spaces, athletic and recreational facilities, campuses, places of worship, healthcare environments, and large-scale township planning across Asia and the United States.
Among his notable achievements, Kun Lim’s concept master plan for Putrajaya—the new Administrative Capital of Malaysia—won an invited design competition in 1994 during his tenure at BEP Architect in Kuala Lumpur.
His work has been featured in architectural publications and mainstream media, including television in Asia. An active voice in the global design community, Kun frequently shares his insights at conferences and forums in Asia, the United States, and Europe.
Recent speaking engagements include:
• DATUM: KL International Architecture Conference, Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (July 6, 2024)
• American Institute of Architects Conference on Architecture & Design 2025 (AIA25), Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (June 4, 2025), where he delivered a lecture on his public architecture projects and participated in the panel “Shaping the Future of Design Across Borders.”
